Since the notebook template was getting old, I updated the blog with a new, and probably better template with an awesome background. As such, I didn't make the template, all credits go to Ray's Creations. Tell me what you think about the new template - is it awesome or does it suck?
Also - I'm trying out the new Blogger post editor - should be better than the old one.

Retreat later
My classmates and I have a spiritual retreat later at around 10PM (+8:00GMT). The whole retreat will end tomorrow at 3PM or so, and we're staying at some big-ass building in Batangas.
Never had any experience about having a retreat before, some say it's just a recollection, only that it takes on a course of two days and it's usually in a faraway place. I'm writing a few recollection letters (or letters where you recollect your recent f-ups with those people) for my friends, I hope they work.
Now I have to prepare, because I'm leaving the house at 9:15 and it's already 7:44 here. Need a quick check on the stuff I'm going to bring before I'm ready to roll.

10 creepiest places in the Philippines
Being a country filled with very spiritual people and a dark past, the Philippines boasts a couple of creepy places that you wouldn’t otherwise go to, but are sometimes so awesome and common that you have to. Here are some landmarks in the Philippines that are haunted, scary, or just downright creepy.
10. Starbucks Coffee at the Northern end of Macapagal Ave.
There are at least three Starbucks Coffee branches that sit in the wide open Macapagal Avenue, the road in Pasay that connects the huge SM Mall of Asia to the main parts of the city. The most noted branch, however, is the one at the far northern end of the road, alone in a small building.
Why is it creepy?
The land that the Macapagal Avenue stands is reclaimed land, or otherwise bits of land that workers dug up from a quarry and dumped into the shoreline, giving “fake” land. Since the land is just dumped there and “glued” to the original landmass, it is possible that the reclaimed land can drift away, break apart, or sink. Also, its softness and brittleness gives way to accidents in construction.
When the building where the branch stands was being built, some dumb architect decided that a four story building on top of soft, fake land is awesome. So he built a four story building, and it was completed until all that is left to do is interior decorating and painting. About a day after painting has begun, the foundation began to crack and break away, and in turn the support columns collapsed. The building was destroyed, burying painters and decorators inside.
Instead of searching for the buried workers in the pile of rubble, the architect wanted to open his store right away, so he ordered some workers to clear out the rubble and then build another building, this time he reduced the building to two stories high. The building was a success, however, because of its history, people were afraid of renting the building, because they think the building is haunted by the ghosts of the dead, buried workers. Only one company, Starbucks coffee, is ballsy enough to put up a branch there.
So if you go there, don’t be surprised if a face forms in your cappuccino foam, or if there’s constant wailing below the foundation. Mind you, it’s part of the ambience.
9. Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City.

Ah, Baguio. The summer capital of the Philippines, since it’s the only inhabited place in the country that has an average temperature of 10C. The city was once occupied by tribes, mainly the Igorots. When Americans went up the mountains and decided to build malls and establishments there, the tribes disagreed. Since Americans needed the space, they forced their buildings in by shooting and killing the tribesmen. Those who survived went away from the city, only to come back a few years later.
Why is it creepy?
Teacher’s camp is occupied by more than 70 people each week. That’s probably gonna save you from any tribal ghosts right? Wrong. It is rumored that the ghosts of the natives dance to some invisible groove at night. If you stay there at Teacher’s camp for a night, you’re not going to sleep, because outside there’s a whole tribal dance party going on. However, once you step out of your tent, you’ll find nothing, and the music stops.

8. Capiz, Aklan

Capiz has been hailed as the “Aswang capital of the Philippines”. In case you’re not Filipino, “aswang” is the term for a vampire, or a monster, or whatever. It’s usually characterized by a devilish look with wings and favors the taste of animal meat. Usually any animal they could find. It is theorized, however, that they also eat human carcasses.
Why is it creepy?
They already have detailed reports of aswangs roaming around the whole province. There have been numerous reports of animal corpses, from chickens to cows to dogs littered around the town, with strange bite marks that are from an unknown predator. Most people blame it on the aswangs, however some blame it on wild wolves (since the whole province is forested). Also, there are reports of people turning up missing in the night, and never to be seen again. Perhaps there is a reason why they made a festival for the aswangs in their neighborhood.
7. SM Mall of Asia

One of the most overhyped malls in the Philippines; the SM Mall of Asia is the third largest shopping center in Asia (after being beaten by some big-ass Chinese mall). Like the Starbucks branch, SM Mall of Asia is conveniently built on top of reclaimed land. More than 850 meters of solid steel and concrete. In soft, fake land.
To overcome this problem, the smart-ass architects of SM Moa decided to limit the whole facility to just two floors. The only thing that’s going to go through two stories would be the IMAX theatre and the indoor parking lots. Also, a huge outdoor plaza splits the middle of the mall, probably to make sure that the land doesn’t break upon its weight above.
Why is it creepy?
Um, hello? This is a really huge structure chilling on top of reclaimed land. Increase the weight with the thousand people hanging out in the mall every hour, and tons of material objects inside and you have a massive structure. The land below is struggling to hold the weight, and any minute now the landmass would break, sink and/or collapse, which will kill and bury at least a thousand people inside the mall. Let’s hope the IMAX theatre will be spared.
6. University of Santo Tomas

The University of Santo Tomas boasts being the oldest existing education institution and university in the Philippines. It was founded by a group of Dominican priests, who, according to history books and Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, are known to be bunch of priests who act like dicks. They ignore most rules and laws a priest should obey, such as not boning and not murdering people. The University of Santo Tomas, while serving as a university for privileged people, was also a torture house for natives who were falsely accused of shit they didn’t do, such as boning a Spanish woman, killing a Spaniard, and simply being a native. The priest killed them for fun, and their excuse for such dickery was that the natives were sinners and they were sacrificed to God. Yeah, just like pagans.
Four decades after Uncle Sam liberated the Philippines from the Spaniards, the Japanese occupied the nation. They destroyed all outside communication of the Filipinos, and killed anybody who thought of disobeying the Puppet government. The University of Santo Tomas was used as an execution palace during the Japanese occupation. Thousands of American and Philippines soldiers who were captured were jailed inside the university were they were tortured to forms like pulling razor hooks from your skin to kicking your balls repeatedly with cleats. After all the torture and humiliation, the prisoners were beheaded, using toilets. A goddamned toilet. Imagine those things pulling your head off and some retarded Japanese dude flushes it down. Ok they don’t pull your head off. The Japs simply cuts your head off with a quick karate chop and pop goes out your noggin.
Why is it creepy?
After the World War II, the whole university was back from its original “turning people in smartasses” form. However, through the years there have been reports of ghosts and supernatural behavior in the university. There have been tales of doppelgangers, headless priests and soldiers, and lights turning on and off. There were also creepy ladies in white and horsemen murdering students from their beds. Also, there were reported instances of skulls floating in toilet seats.
So, if you visit UST and decided to take a shit, please do it somewhere else. Pay respect for the head that has been severed in the toilet instead.
5. Intramuros

Intramuros is known as the “Walled city” or the palace of the Spanish government of the Philippines when the Spaniards occupied the country. True to its name, Intramuros’s perimeter is covered with high, stone walls, probably built to keep natives from going inside the fortress. Intramuros was the home of government officials and monasteries, where the officials spend their time boning native prostitutes and the monks practice how to be gay.
Like the University of Santo Tomas, Intramuros was the home of execute-happy friars. Those who question the Spanish government and the church or are just fun targets of a trip to the garrote are killed for fun. They were either locked up and left to rot in dungeons below the city, or served a quick death through the use of the garrote. During the Japanese occupation, Intramuros was bombed and was used for execution purposes also, this time, your executor is speaking Japanese, not Spanish.
Why is it creepy?
It’s almost the same as the University of Santo Tomas, although Intramuros is much darker than UST. The whole place is very dark at night and is dimly lit by a couple of lampposts that are a hundred feet away from each other. And those light bulbs repeatedly flicker without any apparent reason. Also, if you think you have balls of steel like Duke Nukem’s, I suggest you explore the underground catacombs of Intramuros at night, and see if you encounter any native zombies down there. It’ll be fun, believe me.
4. PhilSports Stadium (ULTRA)
During Febuary 4, 2006, ABS-CBN’s early afternoon show Wowowee held its first anniversary at the PhilSports Stadium, which was scheduled to start at 1pm. To make the event more interesting, the show planned to give away jeepneys, cars, and a million dollars to lucky ones who would be chosen in the foresaid event. About 30,000 people were seated in the football stadium, which was the viewing point for those who cannot enter the basketball stadium, which is supposedly where the event will be held. Those 30,000 people are usually low-life douchebags and retards who think they can win a million dollars just by showing up in front of millions and answering some stupid question they don’t know shit about. Also, about twenty thousand or so of these “viewers” camped outside ULTRA at least five hours before the event.
When ABS-CBN began admitting people into the basketball stadium, those who legally bought their tickets and were not douchebags were first to be ushered in. Those who stole tickets and are douchebags were picked last. Those who are douchebags but did not steal tickets however, were stopped by security from entering. Due to the usual “OMG HOLY SHIT A MILLION BUCKS” syndrome that every idiot seems to possess, those who were kept from entering the event did unconventional methods of forcing themselves inside like a dick – pushing, shoving, kicking people in the balls, and screaming relentlessly at security to let them in and making up a story about their mother dying in coma. Finally, some mentally retarded f*ckwad decided to be a huge dick and yelled that he found an armed bomb in the middle of the waiting line. And since Pinoys hated being blasted to bits by explosive, regardless if they are true or not, they panicked and began to shove their way out of the building. Those who didn’t see it coming were shoved to the ground, where they were stepped on their balls multiple times by men, women, and children alike. About 71 people were killed and 392 were injured because of the incident. Wowowee was immediately suspended for two months before it reopened again.
Why is it creepy?
There have been unproven reports of security guards in buildings opposite the ULTRA building that voices and moaning can be heard from the street. One security guard narrated that he found bodies of men, women and children lying helplessly on the street, crying for help at night. There were about 71 of them, according to the security guard.
This is not the only case of stampedes in the Philippines that are caused by a mentally retarded douchebag. I have heard of a tale about a cockpit coliseum stampede that killed 90 people. Also, there are reports of ghosts clinging into vehicles of unsuspecting motorists who happens to travel alone along the coliseum’s road, but it has been unproven, deemed false and “Weird as shit”.
3. Mt. Cristobal, Quezon-Laguna

Ok, since my fingers are getting tired, I’m going to copy pasta some info from Pinoy Mountaineer:
One of my relatives climbed Mt. Banahaw before, but they didn’t have the balls to climb Mt. Cristobal. Probably because their guide warned them that some faggot with bat wings will crawl into their tents at night and suck off their gonads. Or something.
Why is it creepy?
There are plenty of stories to tell about Mt. Cristobal, and it’s best to just follow them. Unless you want some faggot with bat wings to suck your balls at night. That would be creepy, not to mention humiliating.
2. Manila Film Center

It’s the creepy Parthenon inspired building that is located around the corner of the Cultural Center Complex in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. Imelda Marcos, the First Lady of the Marcos Administration, supervised the construction of this huge building so Europeans and Americans alike will hold the International Film Festival in the Philippines. Originally, Imelda, with her meth-powered imagination, planned to construct the pillars of the building using coconut husks, in an attempt to merge Philippine and Greek architecture. Thankfully, the architects convinced her that her plan was too f*cking stupid and decided to settle with lame, boring marble and concrete.
The construction went well until November 17, 1981, during the pouring of the second layer of cement over the foundation. The high scaffolding that kept the workers from being plummeted to the floor below by gravity collapsed, sending the unfortunate workers to the yet-to-be dried cement below. Others were impaled on the steel scaffolding. The impaled bodies were recovered, but those who fell into the wet cement were too late to be saved and were immortalized in the cement.
The surviving workers urged Marcos to stop building operations and excavate the bodies of the buried workers, but Imelda pushed the construction and ordered the workers to just pour another layer of cement over the bodies. Finally, the building was finished, however, the story of the collapse quickly spread throughout the Philippines, even when SMS and Twitter wasn’t even around yet. The supposed to be guests of the Film Center was shocked by the news and decided to just hold the Film Festival in another boring place in Europe.
The Film Center still stands today, and is now known as the “Amazing Philippine Theatre” according to the banners posted in front of the building. The haunted building now attracts Korean honeymooners to watch the Philippine’s prettiest gays. Faggots are probably enough to scare the ghosts away.
Why is it creepy?
Can you please reread the last four paragraphs?
Once you’re done, you’ll know what I should be writing here. If not, you shouldn’t even be reading this article.
There have been reports of ghosts and apparitions around and inside the Film Center, mainly the workers buried in the cement foundation, begging those alive to find them and give them a proper burial. Who wouldn’t hate to be buried below a gay bar?
1. Corregidor, Bataan

Corregidor Island stands as the landmark for one of the bloodiest battles in WWII Pacific. It is at least 48 kilometers from Manila. The island is formed in the shape of a tadpole, or sperm, or something.
First, it was a small island wherein the Spaniards built a lighthouse in order to guide ships that are moving around Manila Bay. After the Philippines were liberated by the Americans, the island was renovated into an American outpost to watch intruders that are approaching Manila bay. There are deployments of American weaponry like cannons and mounted machineguns on the island, some of them are still intact today in their original form.
In WWII, the Japanese eliminated all American and Filipino forces that are opposing them in Luzon. After the Fall of Bataan in April 9, 1942, the only resistance of Uncle Sam left in the Philippines is garrisoned at Corregidor Island, awaiting the hammer to hit their balls.
A few days later, the Japanese assaulted the island. The first wave was mostly Japanese airplanes bombing the area and kamikazee’ing as a distraction to let the naval forces in. The second wave carried the thousands of infantry that will raise hell on the island. Against those waves are less than a thousand American soldiers, along with a few Filipino grunts who are good bullet absorbers.
The Americans were powerless and outnumbered against the Japanese. There were just too many people who talk like “ching chang chong” attacking them that the Americans are forced to grab their rifles and shoot themselves. The Americans were armed with cannons, howitzers, anti-aircraft flak cannons, miniguns, and other advanced weaponry of the time, but the Japanese were just too freaking many. It’s like Left 4 Dead, 4 against 100. Adjusted to inflation, the Corregidor battle was 400 to 1000. Also, the zombies are armed with guns and are a little more protected against bullets.
Finally, the Americans were overpowered and were forced to surrender. Most of them were tortured by the Japanese in gruesome manners that I shouldn’t even think of. They were killed and the bodies are dumped in the water, or buried.
However, all hope is not lost. Finally, Gen. Douglas MacArthur obtained balls of steel and decided to go back to the Philippines and kick some Japanese ass. He landed in Leyte and began rescuing Filipinos from Japanese deadly cock-grip up north, until the last of the Japanese were eliminated and were forced to retreat back to their home. Then the Americans pushed the two big red buttons that nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Japanese surrender, ending WWII.
Why is it creepy?

Today, the island serves as a tourist attraction. The ruins are well preserved and the weaponry are displayed in a stylish manner that gives you an urge to fire those insane weaponry and hope that one of them fires a nuclear warhead powerful enough to destroy North Korea. However, there have been countless legends about apparitions and invisible presences in Corregidor at night. Though, they have been known to be “friendly” ghosts who died as heroes and rambos and intends to “give you a warm welcome and make you piss in your pants”. It’s very creepy nonetheless.

So here you go; the creepiest places in the Philippines. If you’re planning to visit one of these attractions, be sure to go in unarmed and alone, with a huge neon sign above your head with the word, “Dumbass”. I’m sure it’ll be a nice and exciting trek.

3. Mt. Cristobal, Quezon-Laguna
Ok, since my fingers are getting tired, I’m going to copy pasta some info from Pinoy Mountaineer:
Countless legends surround Mt. Cristobal. With its summit taking on a characteristic 'W' shape, like that of stealth bomber, it is flanked by the grander Mt. Banahaw to its northeast, and together, they figure prominently in folklore. For instance, it is said that while Mt. Banahaw is a holy mountain, Mt. Cristobal is the "Devil's mountain", and the two mountains possess good and evil energies that cancel out. The primeval forests of Cristobal, decked with ferns and thorny plants, culminating in its ancient crater, seem to fit the bill of an eerie mountain. Furthermore, there are tales of voices or apparitions, such as the creature called 'Tumao', waylaying mountain climbers; many hiking groups have their own "ghost stories" to tell. Even locals believe these stories; some guides say they have amulets to counteract the negative energy.
These legends notwithstanding, there is no reason to be afraid of Mt. Cristobal. Its forests are pristine, with a splendid array of flora that include giant pakpaklawin, varicolored flowering plants, rattan, etc. Two types of civet cats, the musang and the animus, roam freely in the forests. There are also reptile species, including those locally known as the bubuli and the balikakas.

4 reasons for me to be optimistic about the Philippine's situation
The whole country is in shambles. It's travelling in a massive shitstorm and suddenly the President didn't realize the old '70s van was out of gas. The old, clunky van halts to a complete stop, waiting for the storm to completely consume it into eternal damnation. Meanwhile, Escalades, Hummers and 50 wheeler rigs pass by the stranded van, and these vehicles are covered with gold and bling outside and in the inside are pimps with ten women on each arm. The others contain lots of factories with robotic workers laboring 24/7/365 manufacturing cars, speedboats, Xbox 360s, iPhones, computers, and nuclear weapons. Some of these trucks would stop by the stranded Philippines and lend some help - maybe some spare change, a few women, or technology.
What does our truck look like anyway? Our truck is a pile of shit that somebody from first grade who is extremely retarded and autistic called it as a truck. The truck is made up of a rusty metal frame, with an engine barely enough to power a small chainsaw. Inside the shitty truck is about 90,000,000 shitty people who produce nothing but good old shit. These ninety million people beat the shit out of each other instead of helping each other out to get out of the shitstorm, so the beaten truck gets stranded even further in the storm.
In spite of this, I have remained calm, vigilant and optimistic. In fact, the world fiscal crisis, along with our local fiscal crisis, has been one of the best years of my life! Here are some reasons why I'm optimistic about the shitty situation:
I have more free time!
Since the economy faltered, the Pinoys were divided into two groups: the drunk and the miserable. The drunk mainly drowned their troubles with good old San Miguel Pale Pilsen, acts like a dick and hangs out at cockpits (roosterpits, not homosexual fighting competitions) during the day. The miserable however, are people determined to reach that 9 to 3 office job but instead has a lame 7 to 5 factory job where he is meant to repeat a process over and over again in order to make his rich boss filthy rich.

The Philippine dream.

While these two groups are out making a name for themselves, I am here on my computer, with friends, or OGC'ing, since I feel like I got all the time in the world! I can take a 40 minute shower now, and have time to watch paint dry for six hours. Also, I can write even more shitty articles like this and be a dick on the Internet! Isn't life great?
I meet all sorts of new people!
In the 90's, people meet in the outdoors - in parks, the streets, even the mugger and his prey become friends afterwards. Today, we meet "friends" on the Internet, and they come in many stereotypical shapes and forms, and these forms are typically faked, thanks to Photoshop.

The typical Internet drone, who spends 18 hours a day on his computer.

The typical Internet drone, who spends 18 hours a day on his computer.
I meet all kinds of new people - small kids pretending they're adults when they haven't even hit puberty, whiny teenagers who keep whining about New Moon not being released yet, Halo and World of Warcraft nerds who can't lift their asses off the couch, and old technophobes who doesn't even have a damn clue what a computer is.
Indeed, the Internet is a diverse place full of different kinds of people. Most of them aren't even real, but who cares, least the world looks like it can fit in on your computer alone.
I get to have a part time job!
In my early high school years I don't give a damn about money and I throw it around much like a pimp throws his hos around the streets. Now, since a large meteorite bomb of fiscal destruction hit the whole world, I'm forced to find a way to earn a few bucks for myself. I thought about writing and digital art so I gave it a try, so I made a shitty weblog and posted articles on it so that some unknown newspaper or publisher might take interest in my works. So far, I have earned $200 bucks, not from writing, but from winning a machinima competition. And instead of giving the prize money to the squatters littering the streets, I spent the money on a PS2 to USB adapter, a few video games and ho's to bone in SL.

I don't believe it. I spend a hundred dollars for this?

I'm expanding my horizons to other businesses in the Internet, such as spamming people to death with advertising, making shitty ads for porn sites and writing articles. I tried to take a job in SL myself but the $1=280L$ deal and the anti-teen policy in Second Life prevented me from doing so.
I get rights to free speech!
The economic crisis messed up the country so bad that the President along with her "negative commenters terminators" (the secret agents who secretly kill people who oppose the government) are completely focused on solving the fiscal problem. As a result, there are more ralliers on the street and writers like me who are willing to humiliate the government through words using a keyboard. And a computer.

Above: Keyboard, the ultimate weapon.

So now I can write articles like this to destroy the image of the government, which in turn can be very useful to make the country go back in its original course without a midget with breast implants and a 2-inch mole on her face to run the country. Or something.
So the whole economic crisis isn't so bad after all. What about you? Did you spend your time working 24/7/365 for a boss who doesn't give a damn about your rights? Or did you party it up and go against the government? You choose, or this whole economic shitstorms gonna eat us up any minute soon.

NCAE is way too easy
Wow, I had a nice nap today. Not necessarily a whole 3-hour nap, but a total 5 hours of little naps I took when I successfully speedrunned the whole NCAE (National College Assessment Examination). The test was supposedly five and a half hours long, but no, I think I can do it in about three hours. Maybe even faster if I'm in a crazy mood for speedrunning.
Anyway the quiz looked like it was built for little kids. The questions, even the mathematical problems were too easy. I'm guessing the DepEd pictured us as little wussies at first and began to give us pussy exams. They gave us eighty minutes to answer the Reading Comprehension subtest. I didn't even need thirty minutes. I finished the whole subtest in about twenty minutes and dedicated the rest of the time in taking a good nap.
It was the same for the other subtests. Every one of them - Verbal ability, non-verbal ability, mathematical skills, scientific ability, and entrepreneural skills, were not even comparable to the ones we have at school. The UPCAT was easy, and the NCAE doesn't even wag its dick at the UPCAT. So why even bother giving it to senior high school students?
Oh well, it's over, so, why should I care?

NCAE: Why it sucks
The NCAE (National Career Assessment Examination) is a national examination held nationwide in all high schools in the Philippines, regardless if the school is publicly or privately owned. It was meant to check which kind of schools fail and which owns. However, students and their parents, being stupid and gullible because the word "National" was included in the label, began to take the test as, "Something to determine which college degree or major is best suited for you".
That idea is absolutely retarded. I don't need to rely on some quiz to know what I'm good at, or where I belong. I can do the deciding part myself. I don't trust a quiz that looks more like the typical Facebook "What college course fits you most?" quiz that looks like it's written by a 6-year old who can't type and has lost conciousness with English. The only difference is that the NCAE is way harder and it's much more formal.
Quoting the cab driver who ignored red stoplights, "I don't need to rely on a machine just to think. I have a brain, and I'm determined to use it". In his story, the narrator describes how the cab driver ignores all red lights but still he crosses intersections with caution. This cab driver is the example of a thinking man. And I bet he didn't even go to college or finish high school. How about the senior high school students, who endlessly brag about their eduacation and how they finish with honors. But they can't even decide their future and are better off letting a retarded quiz do it for them.
No sir, I refuse to be brainwashed, however, I need to go through this tomorrow since as usual, I'm threatened for my balls.

Common terms Filipinos often confuse
Filipinos are known for their sense of humor. They are built to lol at almost every practical joke, whether it is vocal or through actions.
They are also known for misunderstanding common terms, which makes other countries lol at them. Here are some common terms that Filipinos usually confuse, not arranged in order of severity:
Xerox
What it means to a Pinoy: n. a photocopier v. to photocopy. example: Punta ka nga sa xerox (Go to the xerox); Pa xerox nga nito (Xerox this)
What it actually means: n. a manufacturer of photocopiers.
The photocopy machine has been around ever since the late 60's or so. It easened the pain on typists' fingers by allowing them to copy documents easily without having to type it all over again. The machine uses lasers to both scan and print the document. One of the first photocopier machines were revolutionized by a company named Xerox.
When Xerox's photocopier machines were imported to the Philippines, probably because of the lack of typists man enough to make 15 copies of 20-page documents, Filipinos, as usual, thought the name of the machine is the big "Xerox" letters embossed on one side. So for thirty years until now, the photocopying machine is now called as a "xerox", regardless of whoever manufactured it.
Kotse (car)
What it means to a Pinoy: n. a land automobile of any kind. example: *Points to pickup truck* Sakay sa kotse (Get in the car)
What it actually means: n. a small land automobile, with four wheels. It can range from a sports car to a bulky minivan.
No, the confusion of cars with vehicles did not start because the first automobiles are cars. The first automobiles witnessed by the Filipinos are probably American military jeeps and trucks. Consumer cars did not hit the scene until the end of WWII, when the Americans thought the Philippines needed transportation and threw in some old Fords and Chryslers.
Internet
What it means to a Pinoy: n. A web browser. *Points to Firefox* Buksan mo nga ang Internet. (Activate the Internet)
What it actually means: n. A huge network of computers, also known as the World Wide Web.
I'm thinking confusing the word "Internet" with browsers came up because all Windows systems are packed with Internet Explorer. Filipinos, who learned to name things according to shortened first words, began to call every web browser as "Internet", because basically, Internet Explorer is everywhere. Probably if Macs ruled the Philippines and the world, Pinoys would call any browser "Safari". Like, "*points to Internet Explorer* Buksan mo nga ang Safari."
CPU
What it means to a Pinoy: n. The vital parts of a computer excluding the monitor and peripherals. This includes the CPU (central processing unit), motherboard, hard disk drive, removable disk drive, and RAM. Example: Ang bigat ng CPU mo. (Your CPU is heavy)
What it actually means: n. The Central Processing Unit, commonly known as "processor".
I blame those computer textbooks we read in First and Second grade for this confusion. In those books, the vital parts of the computer were simply regarded as the CPU, because they refuse to confuse the little kids with complex terms like motherboards and hard disk drives. In first grade, the parts of a computer system is just the CPU, the monitor, the keyboard, and the mouse. That's it.
Bold
What it means to a Pinoy: n. Pornography. Example: Hoy, wag ka nga manood ng bold! (Hey, don't watch bold!)
What it actually means: adj. brave, filled with courage, determined, unfearful.
I do not have any idea who termed pornography with the world bold. When I discovered CDs with nekkid people on it they called it bold and snatched it out of my hand. It's only when I got to the Internet when I discovered that it was actually called pornography, or porn, or pr0nz, or whatever.
Jeep
What it means to a Pinoy: n. A utility automobile that resembles the American Jeep Wrangler. Can also refer to jeepneys (Public Utility Jeeps)
What it actually means: n. An American manufacturer, famous for the Jeep Wrangler that is used from everyday travel to military expeditions.
Why do Pinoys call the jeepney as such? The jeepney and the owner jeep (aka privately-owned jeep)'s design is based on Jeep's Wrangler. In American bases occupying Clark and Subic in the Philippines, a Jeep Wrangler is mainly used as an everyday vehicle for everyday military use. It can be mounted with a machinegun on top for additional firepower, and it can run through rugged Philippine terrain with ease because of its 4x4 and four wheel drive capabilities. Indeed, the Wrangler was so innovative that Pinoys decided to rip off its design and called it the Jeep, in honor of the big metal letters on the back of the Wrangler.
There has been countless rip offs of the Jeep Wrangler up to now, for there are at least thousands of jeepneys roaming around the streets and another thousands of owner jeeps. And it's not only the Wrangler being ripped off, but the Hummer as well. I'm hoping they rip off Escalades so I can feel American bass thumping trucks without the American feeling.
They are also known for misunderstanding common terms, which makes other countries lol at them. Here are some common terms that Filipinos usually confuse, not arranged in order of severity:

Friends for sale: One of the most retarded Facebook apps ever
A few weeks ago or two I decided to check out Friends for sale, since I'm getting request to accept an invitation to join the game so both parties (me and the sender of the invitation) will get a 1,000,000 coin (currency in the game app) bonus. Of course, I accepted since I'm being curious and want to fit in since I've already got like 15 requests to use this app.
Turns out that allowing Friends for Sale to utilize my Facebook profile was a bad choice.
After signing up, I took a look around. I have a million coins to start with instead of the usual 250,000 coins. I bought my brother, for a measly 100,000 coins, since nobody in history bought him yet on FFS. When I bought him, I was given the option to give a name for him as my new "pet". I named him "asswipe" and just moved on and bought more people, sometimes from others who already owns them.

Finally, the million coins were fully consumed, and I have to find more money. To earn money without using paid-by-cash credits, one must issue commands to his/her pets to do chores for him/her. Also, those commands are not "Sit", or "Walk" or "Take a shit". The commands are targeted upon one of your friends in Facebook that you choose. For example, I could order my pet to hug one of my Facebook friends, and I could even order my pets to pick up poop then shove it at one of my Facebook friend's face. Once the command has been issued, the pet and the friend will both be sent the notifications, " ordered to you! Will you accept or reject?" for the recieving friend and " ordered you to . Will you accept or reject?" for the pet. The accepting/rejecting part is completely optional. The pet owner will still be paid coins for issuing the command, even if the pet or the friend or both rejects or ignores the notification.
This is the problem with FFS. Everytime your owner orders you to pick up poop, you recieve a notification. When someone orders their pet to shove crap up your face, you get a notification also. This mass sending of worthless notifications greatly reduces productivity and will drown out the more important notifications down the list.
If you hate walls of text and completely ignored the paragraphs above, here is a list of things that made Friends for Sale completely retarded:
1. You can name a pet with anything you want. Constantly I get bought and got named "fag", "douche", and "asskisser" a couple of times. I told a friend to buy me, give me a proper name, and I locked my contract to avoid further namecalling.
2. Too many damn notifications. I don't need to get one every damn minute. Can there please be an option to remove this?
3. There's no sense in this "game". All your doing is either making fun of that prick from school or just trying to make yourself popular by buying your friends virtually with virtual currency in a completely virtual world. I'd like to see this happen in real life. Hopefully you'd understand.
So there it is, Friends for Sale, the ultimate Facebook application for the friendless nerd who wishes to extend his or her thin social line. Want to feel like having a little pet to prank your friends with endless notifications? Want to feel like a boss and bitch people around when you're just a hopeless 40 year old dork living with his mother? Friends for sale makes all of these possible.

The users of Friends for Sale, after spending 20 hours a day playing.

5 things that are destroying the Internet
The Internet is such an awesome place. I have not stopped using it since I was introduced to the "World Wide Web" somewhere in 2004. It was an awesome place filled with good people, cool websites, and honest information.
However, today, as the Internet became cheaper, more and more people flocked to it. During the course of 2004, there was a troll for every 35 internet users. Now, in 2009, we have a troll for every 5 internet users. That's a huge difference.
Anyway, here are some things on the Internet that made it such a corrupted place, but sorta somehow making it awesome at some point:
5. Web advertisements
Ranging from the plain Google adbot to the complex and annoying "BUY ME TO NOT DIE" adware malware, web advertisements have changed the ways of marketing and increased the efficiency of targeting customers more than 100% than of mass calling strangers on the phone and billboards. With over 75% of the human population hooked to the massive link, advertising your junk online has become a norm that has been accepted by the community for years. Some advertisements are on a good side, they depict their wares clearly, honestly, and unannoyingly. Horrible advertisements, on the other hand, gives way too many superlative qualities about the product and tries to attract your attention by hijacking your browser and opening 200 instances of the browser application that redirects to their [the advertiser's] web site, which is usually pornographic.
Web advertisements have been used by website owners to earn revenue to pay for their hosting fees. Google has AdSense that can easily earn you revenue for every retard who clicks on the Google ads, thinking that they are legitimate when they're just pointless, irrelevant words that a Google bot just picked up. There are also other companies who offer more solutions by letting you pick who you are going to sell. Least that's much better than Google ads who displays websites about child pr0n on a children's site.
4. Chat
In the first few years of the Internet, communication through computers were limited into two options. First, creating websites that would take a long while to publish. Secondly, and the best solution would be writing an email.
Emails back then were not those HTML hogs that takes a minute to load even on the fastest connection on earth. They are simple messages that resembles text messages, minus all those shortened words and abbreviations like "lol". When someone has to lol, they would say, "I must say I laughed out loud." If someone has to call somebody else a fag, he would say, "I must tell you you're a homosexual." The early days of computer communication was excellent, if only that dial-up and computers weren't so expensive.
Somehow someone got tired of taking an hour to write a simple, constructive paragraph because he can't type at a measly 20WPM. His solution? He built the instant messaging platform.
Instant messaging, otherwise known as IM, is built in order to "instantly" send messages back and forth between two parties, hence the name. It functions almost the same way as emails, although much much faster. In the course of years, IM has evolved from two-way communication to multi-way communications, otherwise known as chatrooms. They are those rooms where the first thing people would ask you is you age, sex and location, and if your credentials fit their needs they'll ask if you have a webcam.
Instant messaging allowed people to see each other through webcams shortly after. This evolved to the practice of camwhoring, or whoring yourself in front of a webcam to get paid by some creepy stranger. It won't hurt if a hot chick is camming for you, but it would suck to know that, even homos do this shit. Gives me another reason to steer clear away from cams.
3. Unnecessary paid stuff
Let's say you have to download a very small batch (.bat) file in order to run a program. So you Google for that file, then you found the only mirror hosting the file. You are ready to download when a dialog pops up, saying that you have exceeded their bandwidth limit even if you just got there for the first time. Their conditions are: Shit out your money to get your file or die.
This has been one of the most annoying nuisances in my experience. I am supposed to download something small and some download site stops me because I've exceeded bandwidth, or I'm Pinoy, or whatever. I'm guessing these "exceeded bandwidth" dialogs are probably a scam to rip money off my wallet just because it said so. And no, I'm not shelling out twenty dollar just to download a 20kb file.
A good solution for this is to enforce payment for the uploader only. The idea of shoving a toll up the downloaders' asses is retarded. No, really, it is.
2. Locality restrictions
Also know as "GTFO Asian/African/European/Australian shithead" dialog, it is the message you get when you view a site and it says that the content you requested is not available in your area. You go to a free internet TV site and it says that the video is not available in your area just because you're not in the American region, or Canada for that matter.
This applies to online selling as well. You want to buy that awesome thingy-whatever-it-is on the Internet since it's not available locally. Now you are about to pay for that thing and discover that they only ship in North America. And that doesn't include Mexico.
1. Anonymity
This is the granddaddy of all plagues plaguing the Internetrealm. The power of anonymity is all powerful. You can pretend to be a football jock to impress a hot babe when you're a 35 year old virgin living with his mother. You can be anonymous and troll on /b/. Hell, if anonymity can be applied in real life, hell is gonna break loose. In fact, China is facing the crisis of anonymity at the moment. You can look at three Chinese guys and tell that they're all named Chan at some point. Or, a couple of Muslims and tell that they're all named Muhammad.
Anonymity is the process of creating a separate identity that is partially or completely different from your real life credentials. You can be a sexy babe on the Internet when you're a 350-lb woman in real life. You can pretend to be Michael Jackson; you can pretend to be 2pac; you can pretend to be just about anything. Hell, I guess that's what the Internet is for.

People who can't go the distance
People who don't go the distance
My mother told me about her friend's son who never exerted effort in school. I met that dude before, way back in elementary, and he has been known to really skip a huge test because "he doesn't feel like it". He can quickly skip school and waste time just because "he doesn't feel like it". All he cares about is that he can drive. He found experience when he was tasked to pick up relatives from the airport. To him, being a driver for people is enough to keep you going.
To me, enough isn't enough.
I strive to be the best in not just one, but many things. Focusing on one field is boring and would probably get you to the status of a nerd. Managing plenty of fields can be very challenging, but at least it makes you look awesome in the end, and if you manage to be a crossbreed of a powerjock and a brainiac, I must say you're probably a rare genetic syndrome of a human or whatever the crazy dudes call it.
I strive to be the best, because I CAN. Most people are happy with what they have now - the average education, the average skills, the average life, and the average future, but to me, nothing is enough. There's only one thing I want - more. In fact, when I built my latest rig, armed with a AMD Phenom II Black Edition at 2.8Ghz, 4GB of RAM, and dual HD4870s for graphics, it was obviously one of the most powerful gaming rigs in the existence of my country at the moment, not unless some random tard decides to be a dick and suck all the power of the country by building a server Xeon CPU and quad GPU config that requires over 1500W of power.
Yet I still envy that probably imaginary dude with a PC that would've cost more than 50000 dollars. It sucks that no matter how hard I try, there's always somebody else who can do better. Considering the fast-paced evolution of technology, it's gonna be a much, much difficult job to keep being the best.
However, "being the best" is nothing. It's only a mirage in the wide open desert that we try and rush for but end up just splashing in a huge shithole or just falling down in fatigue before even reaching it. Good thing though, there are these real goodies that we, the desert traveller, stumbles upon every once in a while, and they keep getting better and better. One might stumble upon a small waterhole, and after consuming the last bit of water inside and moving on to find another, discovers another waterhole, this time it's much much bigger and much more refreshing. The process will go on until you find an oasis, a town, a city, or even a rocketship that takes you to a planet where you're surrounded by hot babes serving you lemonade while you chill out in a huge jacuzzi with two girls on each arm. Of course, we call the planet "heaven", and God only knows and decides if you're fit enough to enter His crib. It would probably take you like a million years to get there, but who knows.
What I'm saying here is, there's no such thing as best. Ever. Advertisements may tell you that the Intel i7 Processor is the best processor there is. One can tell Twitter is the best social network site right now, even if it doesn't even resemble a social networking site. Those two are just the best right now, at this moment. In the future, there's probably something or someone that's going to overtake them and take their crown, and so on.
A winner's first instinct would be to grab this "best" object in all matters possible. Once he or she attains his or her goal, he or she has some time, which ranges from seconds to years, to sit in the throne of bestness. After that short period, the throne will kick the winner off itself and go run farther again. The winner, being very determined, will keep on following that chair and sit on it as much as possible.
That's my philosophy. As long as you still have a heart and a brain, keep on going. It doesn't matter if someone amputated your limbs and you're rendered useless. You can still run the distance, well, maybe with some help from people who are willing to help you move around places. You could go and exercise telepathy, or start a movement for people with amputated limbs.

Top 5 reasons why Pinoys aren't moving up
To be honest, life in these 7,107 islands is shit. Fellow Pinoys, no need to go on an emotional rage once you read that last sentence but, really, life here is shit. Not unless you want to play GTA in real life. I think the Philippines is a country that can become as close as possible to a Grand Theft Auto scenerio besides the United States.
Despite all those materials designed to increase the moral and optimism of fellow Filipinos, the country is still in the middle of a shitstorm. The whole economy is trapped in a seemingly-insane problem, but is so easily solved by a few simple fixes. Like a Rubik's cube which some tard thinks altering the stickers would render it impossible. Now, some dude who gives up easily, let's say this is the Philippines, gets challenged by the tard like, "Hey douche, solve this and I'll give you your economy back." The Philippines endlessly tried his best to solve this rigged Rubik's cube, and he has no idea at all that the cube is altered. He doesn't even have any clue that he can win by just altering the stickers back to their original positions. The tard who gave him the cube proceeds to grab the Philippines' wallet, suck out the cash and stuff it in with Chinese people, and possibly, even Muslims armed with AK47s.
By the word of Allah, kill that midget in the government.

So what exactly plagues the Philippine society? Other Filipinos would blame the government, blame the midget at the head of the government, or blame the first person they see. I beg to differ.
5. Lack of action
Americans are known to be couch potatoes, watching the latest episode of House while consuming three Big Macs and two buckets of KFC. Filipinos are much the same, minus the triple Big Macs and double buckets, and replacing the show with Boys over Flowers. This sir, is the Philippine phenomenon, a pathetic rip-off of its American counterpart.
Filipinos has been known to be hardworking people. I know it by experience, as you can take a leisurely stroll around the provinces in your bass-thumping Escalade and watch old people break their backs processing the rice that's just going to be fed to dogs afterwards. However, if you take a stroll around the city and observe the people, you'll find out that 53% of them are overweight, and it's clearly visible when some 250pound dude tried to jack your Escalade ride but can't keep up with 15km/h. The women also are bad at making sense of their world. You can see them on malls, throwing money on the first things they see, and throw those things in a huge dumpster afterwards. Or they could grab a lame cellphone and risk obtaining Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by texting a length of more than three times of all the Harry Potter books in a day. Surely Filipinos obtained superthumbs by just texting 300,000 messages a month in average.
So what does being a fatass and texting too much has to do with this reason? Simple. They see the problem, but just ignore it and move on eating fried chicken and texting, or watching Boys Over Flowers. You point an RPG up their faces and they'll just grab their cellphone and send a text message to everyone that reads, "HOLY SHIT GUYS, I HAVE A ROCKETBOMB ON MY FACE, ISN'T IT AWESOME? GM".

Screw you.

4. Unable to take the blame.
You and two friends are driving down the street. One of your friends, who is driving, puts the car on high speed. Suddenly, a car tries to cross the intersection slowly. Your friend immediately puts on the brakes but you hit the other car anyway. Thankfully, only minor damages were sustained.
The first thing people would do in a car accident would be to get out of their vehicles and speak with each other about the incident. The man in the other car gets out and asks which one of you and your friends is responsible for the accident. Obviously, it should be the driver, since he's taking the wheel and he's going fast. Unfortunately, your driving friend is unable to take the blame and instead blames you for the incident. Your other friend, who is so engaged finishing his share of kikiam pointlessly agrees to your driving friend. Then the man agrees to your two companions and decides to put the repair expenses on you. What a shame.
This is one of the most annoying problems with Filipinos, they can't take shame or guilt. They'd rather see someone fuck up with something they don't have knowledge about than carry the shame themselves. Who's to blame with the shitty situation of the country? The people always say, "It's the government", while the government will reply, "It's the people". Then that cycle goes on endlessly as long as there's a government and its people.
3. Easily hypnotized by media.
When the television was invented and sold commercially, many people were astounded with its capabilities of displaying moving pictures without the use of film. Although the first televisions are on capable of displaying grayscale images unlike film which are able to display color during their time, the television was more convenient, and the people are slowly becoming fatter since they don't have to go to the theatre to watch something awesome. Obviously, today, the television is so common in every home that people take them for granted. Not with Filipinos.
For people who make commercials, there are many elements that are crucial to effectively brainwash viewers into buying expensive and useless products, namely:
Too much bad CGI that looks like it's rendered by a 10 year old GPU Extremely superlative qualities (New hair growth formula! Drop one on your genitals and have a 'fro as pubes!) Fake prices that are actually 50-100% higher IRL Self-proclaimed celebrities Bad English and writing Abused children
An average Filipino would go, "Oh look its demonstrating condoms and contraceptives with street children! And oh look they're free when they're actually twenty pesos in the nearest 7-11!"
2. Overemotional
The Philippines is now unofficially the most emotional country in the planet. No, it's not because of the alarming growth of people with black nails, long bangs, and homosexual attitudes in the country. It's because of the people's lack of sense in their opinions and words, and would rather follow their butts in thinking rather than their brains.
Here's a likely scenario: A Youtube video is poking a little LOL at Asians. Now they already hit Chinese, Vietnamese's, Koreans, Japanese, Taiwanese, and all other orientals out there who uses language and literature that looks obviously alien to a westerner. One line there suggested that Filipino women are sluts. Now almost every Pinoy there grabbed their ass missiles and fired useless comments at the parody artist. The artist, in his Myspace profile, wrote something about these complaints and just called it, "people being overemotional over some retarded video". That's a very fitting term.
Some woman insulting Filipino doctors in Desperate Housewives? Pinoys went emotional. A Youtube video that only features one line of insult about Filipinos? Pinoys went emotional? Critics making fun of Pacquiao and his English? Pinoys laughed it off and called it a day.
1. Too faithful to the belief, "More people, more power"
A Pinoy would throw a party bigger than the President once he or she graduates from college. The catch? That person studied something he or she did not even wish. Probably another lame branch of engineering, or call center'ing or nursing. Whatever it is, it's probably because his/her friends thought that, "More people, more fun". I think "More retards, more deaths in the hospitals and more machine failures" would be more appropriate.
Let's say you're someone who excels in painting. Now you want to study fine arts in college so that you can hone your talent further. However, you friends who has no life whatsoever pressures you to follow their choices - caregiving, call center'ing, engineering on something they have no clue about, since they think all friends should have the same choices. If you follow them, that would mean throwing your life aside and turning yourself into a zombie like them and if you don't. you're gonna spend days being riduculed for "following your goals". Well, at least in the end they're gonna be working for you.

The school nerd, 15 years later.
If this process keeps on going forever, the country will have too many unnecessary workers who will just be laid off a few weeks after being employed. I don't need five to six nurses attending to my broken arm. I don't even need to be juggled among six to seven tech support phone agents, I can just read FAQs or ask on forums. The Philippines is losing professionals that are required for growth. Our culture is dying because we don't have enough people studying fine arts. We're losing in the lines of literature because nobody gives a shit in writing, and computers are merely magic toasters since the IT education is merely composed of learning how to type sentences in Microsoft Word.
Seriously? Are we ever going upwards?

Although the first televisions are on capable of displaying grayscale images unlike film which are able to display color during their time, the television was more convenient, and the people are slowly becoming fatter since they don't have to go to the theatre to watch something awesome. Obviously, today, the television is so common in every home that people take them for granted. Not with Filipinos.
For people who make commercials, there are many elements that are crucial to effectively brainwash viewers into buying expensive and useless products, namely:
An average Filipino would go, "Oh look its
Seriously? Are we ever going upwards?

Windows 7
Oh no, not another of those "Windows XP vs Windows Vista vs Windows 7 comparisons" that I've seen at least a thousand times on the Internet.
Well, yes, this is another of those "OMG 7 IS R0XX0RZ ITS SO KICK ASS AND SHIT" articles that I read on every PC magazine, both IRL and on the Internet.
To start with, all of those "comparisons" and "test runs" of people who don't mind building a giant rig for $3000 then using it to test run different operating systems are kinda too good to be true. I have the feeling that those poor writers are just being freedom jacked by Microsoft and are forced to say too many good things so that Windows Seven will sell when it comes out on my birthday.
This is a hijack! Gimme your article, bitch!
I mean, look at it this way. I've been using Windows for more than a decade. It's the first OS I've used since I touched Win95 when I was three years old. The process went on for years, although Windows keeps coming back in different names, like Windows 98, and so on. Of course, I remember that doomsday when my father suddenly decided that Windows ME looks 1337 and awesome. The installer didn't even make any sense, and we were forced to revert back to Windows 98 and lay low for a while. Things rolled smoothly when we built three PCs in 2003 (two of them are now donated to relatives), and installed all of them with Windows XP. It wasn't until 2005 that a virus first hit my computer (I never got the Internet until 2004), maybe it's because I was using IE6. After long years with XP, we built another three PCs (the rigs we flaunt today), and installed each of them with Windows Vista Home Premium.
Now I'm not entirely pissed with Vista. I think I'm advice people this: "If your computer sucks, don't botter Vista'ing it". If you don't have multiple cores or a good GPU, don't go Aero. For me, I have Aero and the Sidebar on and I rarely get any interface freezes and crashes. Also, UAC is never bothering me at all since I turned it off. It's pretty useless anyway.
Ok, enough about my story, let's go and compare the three OS's. *drumroll*
Windows XP
Pros
- Faster than any of the two other Windows versions
- Simple interface
- You can still run programs that are prior to Windows 95
- Uses way less memory than Vista and 7
- Can be installed on netbooks or underpowered computers
Cons
- No support from Microsoft now. They killed XP already.
- DirectX 10 games have less or no support for XP.
- Not so good driver support for your hardware.
- Very insecure against threats, even with the best AV
- Little support for multi-threaded applications and multicore CPUs
Windows Vista
Pros
- Holy shit AERO!
- Search function.
- Better driver support than XP
- Fully supports DX10
- More support for multi-threaded CPUs
Cons
- Feels more like XP, only with more eye candy
- UAC
- The whole interface is slow
- Uses too much system resources
Windows 7
Pros
- Faster boot ups
- More support for upcoming DX11
- Gives more control over multi-core processes and processors
- More support for hardware drivers
- The interface is much much more organized
- More shortcut gestures for more productivity
- Better search
- Useless core features like Movie Maker are removed
- Fully supports tablets and touch screens
- UAC is moderated and can be personalized
- Since this is a new OS, Microsoft will probably prioritize on the support of Windows 7.
Cons
- You have to buy another OS again just to try it. Maybe I'll just go 7 when I buy a new laptop.
- Little or no support for applications made prior Windows 98. However Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise/Ultimate's feature, a mini XP app that runs Win XP in the background, can be used as a workaround
- Another OS, and Windows XP is being buried further. I wonder if most Pinoys in the computer shops will ever realize that Windows XP is dead and shit.
So, if we sum it all up, we can be proud to say that XP is shit, Vista is shit, and Windows 7 is gonna be awesome. I have doubts, but let's give Microsoft a chance.

Nerdrage
Or whatever.
No, I'm not talking about those 300 pound douches in WoW that freaks out when their character gets pwned hard. I'm talking about fangirls with no life whatsoever and spends their time influencing others on their beliefs, "Life is shit".
The picture above is actually a serious case in the school, where the authorities (in these case they're nuns) got themselves on the Internets, decided to eavesdrop on the students' cyberconversations and stumble upon this. When they found this profile and its really obscene content, they spread word about it in a recent meeting. Then they began a long sermon about how the teens are so abusing the power of the Internets and their anonymity. Well I have 4chan.org do that for me so I guess I'm not abusing or anything.
I don't even know why these dorks are so pissed off. Must be another case of "follow me to not die", where students force their fellows to follow their false beliefs and to make themselves look popular. Probably this emo kid was ignored by her classmates that she went home, filled a gas tank of a Hummer full with tears, then proceeded to donate blood using a razor blade. Then grabbing her $250 laptop, she starts banging her head on the keyboard, creating words of pure fail.
After the authorities spread the word, the emo nerd became scared. So scared actually, that she thinks there's someone following her every second. Now she made her profile private (so that only "friends" can view her writings) and messaging is now off. Wiping the blood flowing from her wrists, she thought she's now in the clear, but no, she fails yet again. She forgot to erase the status message. And like the average Friendster tard, she pointlessly thought, "Oh well my profile is set to private nobody will see this except me my "friends" and Edward Cullen". Pure fail.
Now you must be wondering why the authorities haven't performed any form of action on the offense made. It's because of the following: (1) The FS profile is a group profile, where it's possible that it is being moderated by the a group of people. So you have a group of suspects, and you can't just point at them and say he/she did it. And (2) There's another case going on, and it's [the other case] is much more serious since it is targeted at a member of the faculty.
So have fun admiring the fail above! I sent a friend request to this dork so that I can read the rest of her "writings". I don't have to worry about her not accepting since Pinoys are so desperate for attention they'll accept anything. Then maybe I'll screenshot moar parts of her nerdrage so that the whole Internets can have another reason to have a National Internet Lol at Nerds Day. Hooray.

Twitter vs. Plurk
Recently I made myself a Plurk account, since I feel so left out by my friends I don't want them to label me as a nerd who doesn't join their league of people who makes accounts and just parks them there forever. After I signed up, I got what I expected - a somewhat rip-off of the ever popular Twitter. Except there are some more shit here than Tweetster, like, there's karma (points that you accumulated while wasting your life on the site) that you can endlessly shove into your friends' faces, and a timeline, which gives a more in depth list of plurks (equivalent to tweets) in a timespan. The timeline is kinda useful, at least for now.
Another thing I noticed about Plurk is that 99% of its users are all Pinoys. Holy shit. Am I still on Friendster? I thought that crap's dead, but it seems Pinoys decided to amp it up by creating an obvious rip off of Twitter. Now here I am again, I stepped on another trap that led to me getting surrounded by a mob ob retards who are obviously wasting precious internet bandwidth. If I find a Chinese guy on Plurk, I'll call him Best Friend in Zombieland.
There's unlockable stuff on Plurk, which will fuel the need for nerds to keep on shouting crap like, "I just got myself a XXXL pair of briefs today" or "Why should I go outside when all of my 'friends' are here on Friendster?" You can get a very retarded avatar of a pig who lost its head when you get 20 karma, then you get more weird doodles of a three year old when you gain more karma. There's also more smileys to unlock with karma so you can torment an innocent person by endlessly showering him with a barrage of smileys.
I'm just gonna keep my Plurk account running in case I pick us signals from actual humans, not teenagers in their stereotypical angsts. Maybe I'll find a Chinese or Black dude to actually communicate with, and not share useless links to Twilight or Harry Potter porno.

iBuyPower vs Alienware?
I need a new notebook, particularly for my 4 years in college that will start approximately next year. My dad and I agreed that a new notebook would be perfect for a graduation gift. I don't prefer my own car, no thanks, I'm better off commuting.
In the course of a few months I wanted to have an Alienware notebook. Why? Because they are so kick-ass outside and inside. Like an expensive Ferrari, it's built specifically for you, which is better than those netbooks being sold at the nearby mall. They have the beauty outside and the beast inside, which is awesome. I'd want an Alienware for my own, but I don't think my dad and his wallet would agree.
I like my computers personalized. I built my desktop PC, and since it's quite impossible to build your own laptop (unless you're a super nerd), I'm gonna have to get some people to build one for me.
Recently I was just viewing laptops at iBuyPower and realized that Alienware were overpricing their notebooks for a bit. Ok, maybe not a bit but a quite lot. I don't know if the price of the components have skyrocketed or if Dell's acquisition of Alienware caused it. I blame the latter. Most parts today, especially the GPUs, have gone down in price. The ATI Radeon 4870 512MB has decreased its price at least 10% in the course of a few months. Same with the Nvidia Geforce 9800.
At iBuyPower, you can buy a notebook as powerful as Alienware's for almost 25% percent off. Almost exactly the same components, however, you don't get those Alienware eye candy such as lights, illuminated keyboards, and a name plate underneath your notebook. But those don't matter anyway. I'm not gonna go on college LAN parties at midnight anyway. And if I'm gonna go write papers late at night I don't really need an illuminated keyboard since I have a degree in Touch Typing already.
So in comparison, A 15.4-inch iBuyPower Battalion 101 CZ-9 Ultra Notebook versus an Alienware 15-inch Area-51 m15x.
iBuyPower Battalion 101 CZ-9 Ultra Notebook
Pros
- Price. You can get a good config for a little more than a thousand dollars.
- Just as powerful as Alienware's.
- Can still stand out from a lame crowd of Acer and Dell notebooks.
- They look light and sleek. I think they should be easy to carry around.
Cons
- There's some features in an Alienware notebook that you can't find here (e.g. illumanted keyboard, lighting)
- Don't stand out as much as Alienware
Area-51 m15x
Pros
- Lots of customization options.
- You can amp your notebook to beyond the power of a regular gaming notebook.
- Has that cool, badass look.
- It totally stands out from a lame crowd of Acers and Dells. And probably HPs too.
Cons
- The price. Paying $1400 to have a good gaming notebook doesn't sound like a good deal.
- I don't think they ship to the Philippines.
- Heavy and bulky. I don't want to carry nine pounds everywhere I go in the campus.
So there it is, my personal pros and cons of the two gaming notebooks.
WTF!! WHY JUST A FIFTEEN INCHER?
Well dipshit, in case you're not reading the first two paragraphs, I'm buying a gaming notebook for college. I can't bring my huge desktop PC along, so I'll settle with a laptop. A 15.4 inch is the largest you can go for a notebook that you can casually bring anywhere and to place on your lap. A 17-incher would be too large and heavyset.
Oh, and note this. I'm not going to buy a notebook right now. I'm just weighing the differences between Alienware and iBuyPower. I'm gonna buy a new notebook after I graduate so I can use it to the fullest once I get to college, without the trouble of the technology being obsolete or the batteries weakened already.
UPDATE: Shit. They don't ship to Asia. :(

1st Periodical Exams
Well, it's the 1st Periodical exams in our school together, and now I'm being bitched to shove my face up my ass while I destroy my eyes reading textbooks, while also burning my memory faster than a car magnet on a hard disk drive by recalling every single discussion in the class since two months ago.
This is a difficult process that repeats four times in a school year. I wonder if other countries, especially the U, S and A also has this kind of system. I'm going to be typing out reviewers that I won't spend an hour fondling with. Another complete waste of paper, probably.
The pros and cons of the "exams" season:
Pros
- I get to get home at 11AM instead of shitty 4AM.
- I can freely sleep without the proctor minding after I have done speedrunning my test paper.
- I have the time to nap at home.
Cons
- Parents will force me to study pointlessly
- I'm dealing with fuckwads, who are crosses of a homo sapien and a giraffe, who bends their long necks towards your paper. Or people with sniper eyes that can zoom in optically without the use of extra lenses.
- I can't touch my computer unless I tell them I'm making a reviewer
- And maybe they'll pull out the modem and flush it down the toilet for a while. No worry, I got a lot of shit on my computer I can have fun with, like GTA2, Demonstar, Plants vs. Zombies, and Duke3D.
Holy shit, already 30 mins left and I've done nothing, I think I'll just bang my head on the keyboard, perhaps my head will spit out everything it knows and then encode it on the computer.

Paranoia
It seems that I have read a whole shitload of fictional stories today, or just plain creepy stuff. I am sad to admit that I am very vulnerable to any work of fiction in literature that implies, well, shock and horror. I start to get extreme cases of paranoia where I start to imagine things over and over in my head. I start to get compulsive protective behavior. And most other shit someone high on crack would do.
That's why I keep away from plenty of spooky literature like fictional ghost stories yadda yadda. I'd enjoy a good horror film, especially a good horror game (hey, I play RE and L4D, isn't those games horror?). But I can't get a good horror book out of my head easily. When we're reading, our mind is doing its best to project the reading material's images into our imagination. That's why if one sentence of the recent thriller book speaks about a dark man with a chainsaw, you're going to see a dark man with a chainsaw in your imagination. And usually those thoughts will last for a few days up to a month.
I'm gonna have to reduce my time writing and doing any creative efforts. Don't want my audience to hear about the imaginary figures attacking my head when I read creepy shit.

Added 500GB HDD into my rig
My dad recieved two replacement hard disk drives for exactly the same HDDs that were immediately broken when we bought them two months ago. It's a shame that warranty is slow to act, but, better late than never, since I've been hearing about people who never get any support at all. The two hard drives are a Seagate 500GB and a Western Digital 750GB. I was given the 500GB while my dad takes the 750GB.
Took me at least an hour to fully install the hard disk into the system. The case was a bitch, since there was too much metal around to obstruct my hands. Finally, after a lot of work figuring everything out and putting it all together, I successfully installed the new hard disk. Just physically, so I guess I still have to partition it so Windows can use the disk.
Finally, I have place to dump all those downloads without having the fear of deleting needed ones.

Guide in buying or building a new PC
Technology is fast changing. A piece of updated hardware can become obsolete in a matter of a few years.
You are probably reading this because:
1. Your computer is so freaking slow, and you need a change before you throw your rig from the second floor.
2. People are pissed about your excuses of "being too laggy"
3. You want better graphics, and don't want to be stuck playing Quake, Duke 3D and Doom.
These pointers are of my opinion and are usually situational. Under no circumstances do I insist that the points I'm giving to you right now is correct. All people are welcome to give their own opinions and have the right to debate upon others'.
Here are some excellent tips if you're planning to buy a new PC.
1. If this is a desktop you're buying, try your very best to build it on your own or have a friend do it for you. There's plenty of guides on the Internet that can help you in building your own desktop PC. It shouldn't be too hard actually. Trust me, it was harder seven years ago when SATA wasn't rampant and we still have floppy drives.
2. If you really want to buy a desktop and don't want to build one yourself, make sure that the manufacturer that you buy from can give you customization options for your new computer. I'm not talking about custom vinyls and design for the casing, I'm talking about the components that's going to work inside the PC, the processor, the graphics card, the RAM, etc. Stick with the manufacturers who build your computer when you order it. Don't go window shopping for a new PC.
3. Buy the best you can buy. It's highly recommended to buy the best your wallet can allow you for the moment. By doing so, you won't have to worry about your computer being obsolete a couple of years later.
4. Make sure the manufacturer you are buying from is legit, and they offer warranty for your purchase.
However, if you're awesome and you're gonna build your own PC (good for you!), here's some guidelines. These guidelines apply for desktops only (duh).
1. When building for the first time, have someone assist you. He or she doesn't need to be an IT Professional (although it helps if he/she is). Your assistant can help you lift heavy parts (like the casing), keep your work organized and to give you support.
2. Buy the best parts you can grab. Everything you buy should still be near the top class in at least one to two years. In the third and fourth year, it should be mid-range.
3. Do it carefully and not hastily. Follow the instructions given by the guides and individual manuals given to you by the manufacturers of the components you bought. Take a break once in a while if you feel stressed while building.
Also, the most important tip to consider while buying or building a new computer is: Research! Spend at least three days looking for stuff online and compare them side by side. Or you can go to the local computer store and compare the stuff they sell there. Compare their pros and cons, their usefulness and how you're going to use them. Mind you, researching will pay off in the end.
My sources: My experience, I've been building for five years, built 5 already, of course with the help of other people.

IE6 has got to die
The new Internet Explorer 8 is pretty catchy, even for me who has hated how IE works for at least five years. However, it's pre-predecessor, IE6, is still being used by roughly 10-20% of the people on the Internets. These people are traced to countries whose Internet users are either mostly computer illiterates, or doesn't want to update their systems so they won't be buggered by the infamous "You are using pirated software" Microsoft virus.
IE6 is completely ancient software. It's been in use since 2001. Yet still many people use it. How is this possible?
The main cause for this is that all Windows XP systems, regardless of Service Pack version, gets Internet Explorer 6. Some people have no idea at all that there's browsers other than their ancient, buggy browser, or they simply do not want to update. Or, maybe they're a neurotic Internets user who thinks every piece of software they download is immediately posed as a virus. Like, "*Firefox 3.5 installer pops up* HOLY SHIT VIRUS11!!!11*detaches power cord from computer*".
There are a lot of reasons why IE6 has to be nuked:
1. No support for modern web pages. Our webpages of today use new technologies like CSS 3.0 (Cascading Style Sheet three-point-oh), and all major browser prior to 2008 can harness the technology. However, IE6 doesn't recognize this feature, since it was created in 2001. As a result, many web developers and designers are forced to hack off their original web layouts or make a separate page for luddites so they can entertain to retards who shouldn't be using a computer.
2. Poor security. The only browser that let a virus through and into my PC is, to date, IE6. I had a time when I was browsing Rule 34 (ahem) and caught a little trojan while on Google Chrome, but it turns out it was just AVG playing a joke on me. Your anti-virus program is only the third line of defense. Your second line of defense is your browser, so you better get updating before DL'ing serious pr0nz.
3. Slow performance. It's one of the slowest browsers I ever encountered. I remember when I was 10 and I hated it when IE6 decides to just disconnect and stop loading when it has been loading a web page for fifteen seconds. I know Internets in my country is shit, but sometimes the software running on your system can make a big difference.
Here are solutions for people who are stuck with IE6:
1. Get a better, modern browser. There's plenty to choose, actually. My top recommendation would be Mozilla Firefox, it has been my favourite for four years, and I had little problems with it except minor crashing and memory leaks. A second choice would be either Opera or Apple Safari. Both browsers deliver dazzling performance without using excessive memory. Still, you can try using other browsers, such as Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome, and Maxthon, to name a few.
2. Advise friends to dump IE6. If you're living in a place where mostly every computer is bundled with XP (Welcome to the Philippines), tell your friends to start using more recent browsers than XP. If you come across in a "computer shop" or an "Internet cafe" or whatever the crazy kids call them these days and notice that they only use IE6, don't bother going there unless you really have to.
Oh, and btw, I added a little HTML juice on the site that will block anybody that uses IE6.
Firefox ftw
