I really need one that I can carry around and still have awesome performance simultaneuously. I'm going to college next year and I need some trusty notebook that will be my sidekick for four years, so I'm talking performance wise here so I won't have to buy laptops every one or two years. I can't bring my heavy rig with me, the university is so freaking far from my house and I have to come home on weekends, as a family obligation.
I'm talking about something that has a good enough graphics cards to handle today's popular 3D games, but still has the battery power to last for at least five hours. I also want a laptop that doesn't go over seven pounds, as it would be a pain carrying heavy loads around. I need something that can effectively cool itself, so that I can place it on my lap and have peace of mind from the superstition that my balls will malfunction if they're too warm. I also want good performance, probably two or four cores of processing power, and 2-4GB of system RAM.
I don't need a huge notebook screen. I want something that doesn't go through 15 inches, but I'd greatly prefer a 13". I also won't be needing much HDD memory, perhaps 320GB will be more than enough to store tidbits. I also want something with a nearly-full size keyboard so that I can type comfortably when I have to encode something that's more than 100 pages long.
And my budget? Hmm...it shouldn't go past $1200.
Any suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
